Teaching & Coaching
Hi! I'm Jennifer and I'm excited to assist you on your flute journey! With over 25 years of flute teaching experience, I can help you take your playing to the next level. My brilliant teachers ( Mark Sparks (SLSO), Thomas Robertello (IU), and Jan Gippo (SLSO) gave me a wealth of information and skill that has informed my successful solo flute career, as well as a fruitful teaching legacy. I focus on sound development, creating a fluid and dazzling technique, and musicality. I'll meet you where you are and help you make the progress you're striving for!

Transformational Musical Coaching
This intensive package includes two or four 90-minute sessions (online or in person) that will focus on one or more major elements of your playing that you'd like to transform. Detailed sound work, building technique, vibrato and tone color, articulation, and musical interpretation. I can prepare you for college auditions, upcoming competitions, or just help you focus on taking your playing to the next level!

Teaching Philosophy
I believe that every flutist has the potential to grow in his or her abilities to attain greater levels of musical understanding and achievement. The student must be motivated and willing to learn, as well as dedicated to practicing in order to succeed.
I utilize a multi- faceted approach to lessons, including analogies, word pictures, musical examples, and practical discussions about posture and physical elements of playing. My role as teacher is to find the best way to communicate the elements of technique and tone development in a way that is meaningful to each student. Students that are receptive to guidance will continue to grow and flourish. I use creative analogies and a diverse set of techniques to ensure that my students will connect with the technical and musical demands of the flute.
